GRAND RAPIDS, MI (February 20, 2024) – Entertainment Supply & Technologies (ES&T), a leading provider of cinema design, equipment, and installation services, is proud to announce the successful completion of the chain’s first C Premium auditorium at Celebration Cinema Grand Rapids South. The location was selected by Celebration Cinema for its first elevated moviegoing experience. ES&T’s team transformed one of the larger auditoriums into a premium-large-format presentation, now featuring immersive Dolby Atmos sound and Christie 4K laser projection.
A Full-Scale Transformation
Celebration Cinema’s investment in its Grand Rapids South location reached multi-million-dollar scale. The renovation investment totalled nearly $4 million and aims at redefining the guest experience at the 19-year-old multiplex. Alongside the premium auditorium, the build-out included an expanded food and beverage program with seat-side service and an overall upgrade across the facility.
Tech and Atmosphere: Elevating Every Moment
At the heart of this project lies cutting-edge cinema technology. ES&T oversaw the installation of a Christie 4K laser projector with exceptional contrast and high brightness, delivering crisp, lifelike color and visual depth. Meanwhile, the Dolby Atmos system envelops audiences in immersive sound. Nearly 40 surround-sound speakers bring realistic detail and sound movement throughout the space. The combination of advanced projection, sound, and luxury seating Celebration installed promises a markedly elevated experience compared to the original cinema space.
Comfort Meets Premium Design
Comforting the audience was as much a priority as the technology upgrades. The auditorium now features fully reclining, heated luxury seats arranged in a stadium layout to provide unobstructed sightlines from every vantage point. Unique to Celebration Cinema are bar-height tables with chairs at the end of each row in the C Premium space.
Launch and Forward Momentum
The new C Premium auditorium officially opened with the release of Captain America: Brave New World in mid-February. It serves as a flagship showing for Celebration Cinema’s commitment to premium formats across its footprint. While Celebration Cinema builds its new high-end offering, ES&T continues to position itself as the partner of choice for exhibition operators seeking enhanced experiences. Plans are in motion to create more C Premium auditoriums at the chain’s other locations in the Grand Rapids area.
