What’s missing at the Movie House & Eatery is why it’s so great

Moviehouse & Eatery, Keller, TexasNow more than ever, it’s clear the owners of the Austin-based Movie House & Eatery chain know a thing or two about movies and eating.  Not only are their venues beautiful and state-of-the-art, their admission is reasonable and the chef prepared menu is what you would expect to find at a trendy restaurant – not a cinema chain.

What makes their second installment in the Dallas suburb of Keller, Texas so great (aside from the fact that ES&T had a hand in the project) is the fact that there is no full-service concession stand in the lobby… just an endless, stylish bar!

While their flagship theatre in Austin boasts a modest lobby concession stand, their design team decided to forgo one for the Keller venue, and simply offer a M&E Treats Candy Bar. And who’s going to complain about that?

Our executive design team configured all of the digital projection, sound equipment and front-end screen systems – and it proved quite a treat to be involved in the design of such stylish and state-of-the-art auditoriums.

ES&T also custom-installed the wall draperies and aisle lighting for the auditoriums, as well as the digital poster cases and signage that adorn the venue’s exterior.

“What you are seeing at Movie House & Eatery is an immense change in our industry in terms of the dine-in cinema experience,” said ES&T CEO Barney Bailey after the grand opening earlier this month.

“The chain continues to improve their business model. The amenities here are off-the-chart with respect to comfort, food, and of course, the food and beverage menu. Our team is more than proud to be invited to the party!”
