When we approached one Detroit-based photographer to shoot the Troy Grand Digital Cinema 16 he replied, “I drive by it everyday, that’s a beautiful theatre!” Needless to say he booked the gig, not that we didn’t already know this MJR in Troy, Michigan was a special venue…
Our team installed the largest screen system in the state at this theatre – a record-breaking 84-feet wide by 44.5-feet high! We think Boom! is appropriate here…
On an (only) slightly more serious note, this auditorium provides moviegoers with what MJR deems the Epic Experience – a state-of-the-art large format screen receiving the most advanced digital projection echoed by Dolby Atmos immersive sound. The ES&T team configured and installed all of it, right down to the luxury, custom seating, which MJR chose to inscribe with brand artwork.
We also completed the accompanying 15 auditoriums, which are equally impressive (if we do say so ourselves). Our team’s last two coga in the MJR Troy wheel were food service equipment and a suite of poster cases.
The project was completed in June of this year, just in time to give Michigan movie fans an epic summer of cinema! To see our complete portfolio of the MJR Troy, go here. Many thanks to photographer John Carlson and his team for capturing the project with such marked enthusiasm.
