Let there be walls. And light. Let there be intricate speaker support systems, and curtains and acoustical panels. Entertainment Supply & Technologies teams are in the midst of creating cinema auditorium spaces to exceed the expectations of future guests of the CMX Halcyon venue. Please pardon the dust and boxes as we share the enormous progress of this project.
In recent weeks and over the course of the next month, our installation teams will completely outfit all nine auditoriums with all of the above, as well as custom screen frames. The speakers and the screens are literally waiting in the wings as our teams carry out a complex series of installations.
There is no hard open date set for CMX’s first ground-up construction of Georgia cinema space, but all progress points toward mid-summer of this year.

CMX Cinemas – the luxury dine-in chain that hails from Mexico, and one of ES&T’s valued clients – just broke ground on their new construction project in Forsyth Country, Georgia. This will be the brand’s first location in the Peach State, and quite a locale it is.
The dine-in theater will be part of a mixed-use complex like a mini-city unto itself called Halcyon. The $370 million, 135-acre development in Forsyth county is just north of Alpharetta among the Atlanta suburbs. Along with future plans that include a pair of upscale hotels, the all-inclusive community will feature residential housing, shopping, retail, and entertainment venues – highlighted by CMX Cinemas.
Development for the community began in early 2016 and CMX broke ground this fall on their dine-in cinema space. Once the construction firm completes the build out phase, our teams will install digital projection and sound, custom luxury seating, as well as complete the front ends with wall draperies, flooring and finishes. The target completion and opening date for the entire community is March of 2019.
