Project: Shedding some light on AMC acquisitions

We here at Entertainment Supply & Technologies get really excited about aisle lighting.  No, really. We love designing and installing this element of the cinema auditorium (our Project Manager Greg Schick, especially).  Because besides the screen, it’s the only part of our work that a moviegoer sees once the show starts (MJR Digital Cinema Southgate 20, pictured below).

The silver screen itself – sure – but the movie is playing on it, which is a little distracting.   Guests feel the comfort of the seats we install, but don’t really see them once the lights dim.  And as any usher will tell you, moviegoers are especially not looking while enjoying the popcorn from the concessions we design. So imagine our excitement when we installed new auditorium lighting at six AMC venues in one fell swoop…

ES&T technicians installed the new lighting with diffusers, transformers, and surge suppressors, integrating all elements into the existing electrical of the six classic venues. The work was completed over the course of a few months earlier this year at locations in Bloomfield, Connecticut, Bloomington and Terre Haute, Indiana, Grand Forks, North Dakota, Maysville, Kentucky and Silsbee, Texas.

We completed the Pines 1 project in Silsbee, Texas (left) with our friends at Tempo Lighting, and with this single screen just scratched the surface of what we plan on accomplishing with the California-based lighting designer. Look at those brand spanking new lights, just beckoning moviegoers down the aisle to their seats!

Okay, okay, we’re being a touch silly.  But we really do get excited about aisle lighting (seriously, Mr. Schick gets pumped. Don’t even get him started on ceiling tiles). Because it’s part of creating the best possible experience for our client’s guests, whether they notice it or not. And that is what we’re all about.  Really.
